The Bayswater Armchair | Showroom Model
A vibrant ex-showroom Bayswater armchair. This statement chair is on display in our Tetbury showroom, and available without delay. This classic cushioned armchair is in beautiful condition and would make an excellent addition to a bold scheme, or the perfect conversation piece. The Bayswater is relatively petite in profile, but offers all the opulent cushioning expected from an armchair of this type.
The fabric on this model is GP&J Baker’s Hydrangea Bird in teal. A high quality printed linen, this bold oriental design is just magnificent. This design was originally painted by William Turner in 1917 from a fragment of 18th century Chinese wallpaper. The figurative design is centered around pheasants perched in an exotic flowering tree, the variety of flowering foliage speaks to the interesting story behind this now archived cloth.

About The Bayswater
The Bayswater Armchair design has been gracing drawing rooms for nearly 150 years. This elegantly proportioned design classic was made by Howard and Sons and named the ‘Bridgewater’. Built and finished just as the model was in the 19th Century with hand-tied coil springs and hand-sewn down-filled sac-a-duvet cushions. Compact yet supremely comfortable, the Bayswater is perfectly at home gracing a drawing room yet equally at home nestling in the corner of a cottage bedroom.
